The tour of the Moving Futures Festival is up and running. In past editions in Tilburg, Arnhem, Utrecht and Groningen the audience got a festive and sometimes unexpected introduction to the dance-makers of the festival.
In addition to the choreographers-crew that travel along with the tour, each edition is supported by local guests and partners. In the opening city Tilburg a.o. choreographers Katja Heitmann, Sabine Molenaar / Sandman and Karel Tuytschaever joined the program with performances and open studio’s. Playwright Anna van der Kruis was included with one-on-one conversations with the audience and Tilburg Urban crew FreeFree contributed with a funky dance party. (photos: William van der Voort)
In Arnhem on various locations in Theater aan de Rijn, De Arnhemse Meisjes popped up with surprising acts inspired by the program. In addition, choreographer Jasper van Luijk presented BLISS and the ArtEZ dance-academy (Bachelor of Dance & ArtEZ Studium Generale), the National Center for Performing Arts and De Nieuwe Oost organized the symposium Gender & Idenitity for professionals from the field. In Groningen, the audience visited the interdisciplinary artist collective ZUHAUSE alongside to the central programming in Grand Theatre. They presented work that was established under their umbrella by, among others, performer Rubén Garcia Arabit, Rosine Langbroek and Grey Timmers. To conclude the edition, the Groningen theatre-collective De Laatste Generatie convinced the spectators to join their witty dance bingo so we could all go home as winners.
