From 22 to 25 May, you’ll experience the universe of dance in Dansmakers Amsterdam and Theater Bellevue with a daily interactive and diverse Moving Futures festival program.

Main programme:

Life is not always as fun as we like to believe. This millennial issue is at the base of the contemporary Lullaby made by choreographers Piet Van Dycke and Annemijn Rijk. Also a child of his time is the multinational French-German-Dutch maker Joseph Simon: in Chameleon he moves through the different colorful movement idioms with which he grew up. In between these two performances you can watch the film Lil’Buck with Icons of Modern Art from the collection of Cinedans.  At the break, Dasom Lee, student of the School for New Dance Development, will perform her short dance act SContinuous Cinedans movies in the Foyer and a Meet & Greet afterwards.

 

Side programme:

Be surprised in advance by swirling dance acts of CHRONOS on the Central Station and Leidseplein. Their choreography will be performed by students of the Academy for Theatre and Dance.

In collaboration with Dutch Performing Arts, there is another visitors’ programme for international guests. And this year, international choreographers will also visit the festival. (with the support of the Carte Blanche programme of the European Dancehouse Network.)

13:30: Jubileum Special: Dance professionals are invited at Dansmakers Amsterdam to join a work session about the Sustainable Practice. More info via Ruth@dansmakers.nl

16:30: The afternoon is dedicated to an intricate combination of dance and science. Debating monks where the source of inspiration for the living laboratory Notes on Synchrony. The phenomenon of brain synchronization is researched in this performance.
