The last evening of the Moving Futures Festival in Rotterdam starts with an exciting experiment in the Haltheater of Theater Rotterdam Schouwburg. Notes on Synchrony is an experiment in which contemporary dancers and neuroscientists work together and invite you to a living laboratory.
In ancient Buddhist debate, two or more monks explore inconsistencies in their reasoning while engaging in a highly stylized movement sequence. Neuroscience shows that the brainwaves of the monks synchronize during this practice, literally creating a mental connection. Notes on Synchrony is an experiment in which contemporary dancers and neuroscientists co-investigate the meaning of this connection.
Witness this special experiment that is the result of a collaboration between choreographers Ido Batash and Matan Zamir, dramaturge Ferdinand Lewis (Random Collision) and researchers Marieke van Vugt and Debarati Banerjee (Groningen University).
