Collective MAMM, consisting of Maxime Abbenhues and Mees Meeuwsen, works with partnering techniques that are not based on strength, but on sharing momentum to move another body. In their performances, they explore the phenomenon of “being in your twenties,” and their concepts are rooted in how they, as young adults, view the world today, offering insight into a generation that is still often misunderstood. Starting in November 2023, they will be in residence at ICK Artist Space, beginning with a New Adventures residency where they use “bungee cords” as a metaphor for the current inability to stop and stand still: no strings attached. In 2024, they will continue developing the performance, which will premiere in June.
